Symbiosis - How we will work together & Philosophy
This relationship and space is co-created, person-centered, interdependent, explorative, and focused on curiosity, play, safety, presence, slowing down, authority of the body, welcoming what is not already known, and the openness to challenge current beliefs and values.
The Focuser and the Companion will be sensing, inquiring, and learning together in a non-hierarchical way where dialogue with the body is a central activity and wonder and imagination are essential elements. The Focuser is invited to share what naturally arises during the process, the authority is the body, and that will be honored with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and congruence from the Companion.
The Focuser and the Companion are equals and both have an active role in creating the depth, rules, and boundaries of the relationship. It’s the Companion’s job to create a space in which the Focuser can take the lead in their own growth. And it is the Focuser’s responsibility to share what they are needing from the Companion, whether it be more space physically or verbally, slower or softer tone of voice, more or less guidance/invitations in the process, and or reflections back.
Somatic Integration Coaching holds the values that each person is naturally creative, resourceful, and whole. The Focuser is the expert on their body and mind and the Focuser is the one in direct relationship with their body. The Companion is there to model being self in presence with the Focuser so that they can be in relationship with what arises. Together we create more capacity for you to be with what arises to effect meaningful change and take dynamic actions towards your goals and witness your natural process unfolding. Often, it is the small moments that bring about BIG shifts.
Kelly is not a therapist or counselor. She is a trained and somatic certified coach, using clean language, embodiment, communication and sensing skills to support you as a detached self study partner.
Working together to co-create symbiotic, interdependent, honest, embodied, process-centered space to weave new pathways for healing from perfectionism, shame, and productivity as a form of worth.
This is a process of becoming human, our true nature, of embodying wholeness and inter - being that our
societies of individualism and alienation have divorced us from.
Our worth comes from restoring our direct experience with life.
You are whole and your nervous system's response is intelligent, this work isn't to look at what is wrong, but rather how to create more harmony and thriving in your life through developing new beliefs and ways of responding aligned with how you would like to show up in all aspects of your life. We have collectively been conditioned by a society that does see the wholeness and relationship in the mind-body-environment. This is a process of becoming more fully human and remembering what we have forgotten.
Things we can work through include:
-
Healing the Self - Finding a secure internal bond, becoming available to partial self state (internal manifestation of attachment injuries and trauma
-
Build inner capacity to connect with your felt sense of sensations and emotions
-
Repatterning a secure bond with others through mending boundary ruptures, transgenerational trauma, unwinding shame and finding forgiveness, and embodied nonviolent communication
-
Holding space for grief
-
Restore body as a place of safety and as a conduit for love
-
Release stored tension in the body that contributes to defensiveness, avoidance, and anxiety
-
Relationship issues - including queer and non-monogamous - break the cycle of reenacting protective attachment patterns in relationships and create deep sustaining intimate relationships

-
Restore relationship to yourself and the world around you
-
Anxiety about ecological crisis

Kelly led me through a visualization exercise that unblocked a section in my back I have been trying to open up for years using stretches and poses. She held a loving container for me to explore my own landscape and gave me the space I needed to more fully be present in my experience. Knowing she was keeping the space safe gave me the courage to step forward into my own strength and push through that blockage.
